MONETARY LIMITS OF CONSUMER ARBITRATION BOARDS REVISED FOR 2026
The Communiqué issued by the Ministry of Trade has increased the monetary limits established under Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection and the Regulation on Consumer Arbitration Boards, reflecting the revaluation rate of 25.49% set for 2025.
Under this regulation, for consumer disputes valued below 186,000 TL, submitted from January 1, 2026, the Provincial or District Consumer Arbitration Boards will be tasked with addressing the issue.
The jurisdiction and division of responsibilities of Consumer Arbitration Boards are established by the Ministry of Trade, with Provincial Arbitration Boards exercising authority within provincial limits and District Arbitration Boards operating within district confines.
Applications may be submitted to the Consumer Arbitration Board situated in the consumer's place of residence or at the location of the consumer transaction. In districts lacking a Consumer Arbitration Board, applications will be accepted by the district governor's offices and subsequently forwarded to the designated Consumer Arbitration Board as determined by the Ministry.
